A sumptuous palace recently restored to its former glory, the most representative example of nine-teenth-century architecture for eclecticism, decorative details and furniture. It stands between the two main streets of the centre of Trani, a city of great cultural, economic and tourist ferment. The Palace takes its name from Giuseppe Alberto Pugliese, the first client, an incisive presence in the panorama of Trani jurisprudence in the years from the end of the nineteenth century to the first half of the twentieth century. The illustrious lawyer commissioned the Palace, interpreting the most avant-gar de tastes of the time and the last one was its construction in 1890. Perfectly inserted in the typology of the southern residences of the late nineteenth century, the Palace architecturally represents the emergence of a new bourgeois class in all its economic and cultural ferment. Trani, like other towns, was enriched in those years with houses located on the edge of the old village, consisting of a ground floor for service accommodation and an important first floor, particularly sumptuous, consisting of no less than fifteen rooms. For a long time used as a private residence, the Palace has undergone several changes of ownership and small renovations, but no major restoration before 2006. The current splendor is the result of a long and meticulous restoration lasted about four years, commissioned by the current owner. Structural interventions, the recovery of the original internal decorations and external pavings, as well as wooden fixtures, have brought to light an ancient unexpected beauty.
